I have been in the market for a while for a desk to use with my new gaming pc. I looked at at least a hundred different models and brands before deciding to give this one a try. I was somewhat skeptical about its quality.I must admit it exceeded my expectations. Its design gives it a truly rock solid stability. it doesnt wobble in the slightest. very sturdy.I do wish the top was a little thicker but it feels strong enough and its finish is nice. Seems like it will stand up well over time.My only advice is to follow the instructions! Being the typical man i glanced over them and proceeded to put it together. I assembled the base, which was very simple, put in the screws and drove them home with a cordless drill. This was my mistake. The directions clearly instruct you to assemble the base, then screw the top down, followed by putting the screws in the base and tightening them down. I think its important to follow this order. When i tried to put the top on and screw it in, i had trouble getting the holes to line up. I think screwing the base together after you get the top screwed on should help you avoid the trouble i had. I did manage to get them in after some struggle. : )I would definitely recommend this desk if you're looking for a very solid desk.This is my first time writing a review and I will be as honest as possible. This table is sturdy and the quality is great. Upon arrival (fast shipping btw) the box was damaged but everything in it was fine, no dents, scratches etc. It comes with instruction/drawing on how to put it together. However, following the drawing may give you a hard time putting it together because of the holes not lining up properly. Leave all the screws loose temporarily as you put it together. I assembled it in 15 minutes but unfortunately I was unable to install 1 screw. 2 holes just wouldn't line up. The only solution was to re-drill the hole but I don't have the right equipment to do so. But 1 screw won't hurt for my needs and still very stable. The wood finish is gorgeous. Simple yet elegant ;) For the price it's not too bad. Here's a photo on what I have on top of the table that 1 screw is no biggy for me :DThis was the most difficult piece of furniture I ever put together. The metal bars that go between the legs didn't align properly, so it was a real struggle to put the screws in. I actually ended up with 2 screws I couldn't fit because the holes didn't align, but the table is still very sturdy. I assembled it myself, but I think it'd be less painful with at least 2 people.My only other complaint is the shipping speed, took over a week to get it even with Prime. Otherwise, it's a fantastic desk. The legs are metal, and the desktop is smooth but slightly grainy. It's also fairly big, enough room for a laptop, monitor, mouse, lamp, and other things. It also looks sleek and modern.The desk is great for the price and was delivered in a timely manner. But putting this thing together really sucked, I ended up having to use a file and shave down a part of metal that was causing one of the inserts to get jammed. It took longer than I would have expected to put together but I think it was worth it for the price! I recommend having a second person to help keep the legs straight as you put it together. It can be tricky to do alone.My desk arrived today and It looks just like the picture. I like it a lot and it is elegant and sturdy. However , as other reviewers have mentioned, one of the screws did not fit no matter how hard I tried. I do not think it affects the sturdiness much, but it just bothers me! Just not enough to return it.Also the top came with some scratches to the side. A small area and not very noticable. I have attached a picture of the scratches.I bought 4 of these desks and have been using them for almost 2 months now. Desks are sturdy and have tons of room. Best desk for the price in my opinion. Had no trouble with screws lining up like I have seen in the reviews. Just as kevin highfill said in another review, you need to read the instructions and put everything together first but do not tighten the screws until everything is in place. This allows room to wiggle the parts and bolts around to match up easier. That is actually the easiest way all put it together yourself at home stuff. Save yourself a ton of trouble.Easy to assemble, if you're not incompetent. Comes in five pieces; I did have to use a mallet to fully insert the two cross bars that connect the two leg components. The desktop collects finger prints pretty easily, but it's not too noticeable and it's easy to clean. Darker color than I hoped - more black than brown - but that didn't matter to me much; it matches the picture perfectly. Get some sticky-backed velcro strips for good cable management and this desk will look slick and minimalistic.I was very reluctant to buy any type of “furniture” online as you won’t really know about the build quality of a product until you get it. I can tell you this thing can easily hold 80-100lbs of equipment. I have a triple monitor setup and this thing is worth every penny. Took me 15 minutes to put together as I was watching TV as well. I will be looking at Merax’s products more now. Made me a fan!
