Recently, I fell and shattered both knee caps. I now am having to endure a lengthy recovery period, making it very difficult to get in and out of a standard dining room chair. With the seat height of 19.29” (a tad higher than the average chair height of 18”) and having the side arms for support has made a world of difference in helping me get in and out of a standard chair. The swivel feature makes it easy to turn away from the table rather than having to push the chair away from the table to get out. The chair is well made and sturdy. Swivels nicely and comes with 2 Allen wrenches (BF was very happy about that!) and EZ directions to follow. Amazon ad also gives tutorial on how to put chair together. (Took my sweet BF about 20-minuites to put together.) I got the off-white fabric, which looks quiet rich.Really good product that I'm sure to get a lot of use out of. Assembly was easy, but slightly awkward to hold the legs into place while getting the screws and washers aligned and fastened in.It has nice cushioning, good lower back support, some mid to upper back support, and is a nice distance from the ground for taller people. The only thing about comfort, is I wouldn't call it all-day comfort. If you're working from home, it might start to feel a bit rigid after an hour or so. That's what happened to me. In fact my cushioned dining room chair is actually better in this regard. So if you're looking for shorter duration use, this chair is for you. It is plenty comfortable for that. And the lighter you are, the better it probably is ;)The legs are sturdy, and the fact they don't have wheels is a plus because you can place the chair onto a hard-wood or linoleum surface without need to buy a mat. They even come with soft fabric pads attached so they don't scratch your floor. Now again, if you're trying to repurpose as an all-day office chair, no wheels might be an issue. I love how the chair spins 360 degrees effortlessly. This is a really nice feature that makes it easier to get into an out of. I don't have to pull up the chair nearly as much as a regular chair.Lastly, and one of the chief reasons I bought it, is the mid-century modern aesthetic. The distressed brown leather color on the outside goes along great with the more polished gray color on the inside. The brown also goes great with my adjacent brown leather couches, and the overall look compliments a natural-edge wood desk for which it pairs.Overall, I'm excited to see this piece alongside a moderately used desk, and will get lots of use out of it going forward (albeit probably not full day work sessions).As others have noted, the chairs have a strong smell, but I have found that the smell dissipates over the course of a few weeks. The main reason for writing this review is to comment on the shipping issues related to my order. I bought two chairs in early August. One arrived about two weeks later, but the second chair did not arrive until Sept 12. The seller was quick to respond to my questions, and usually responded within 24 hours. If you are looking to receive these fairly quickly, be aware that UPS is the shipping agency used by the seller and the shipping dates given get changed and even cancelled. It was frustrating but I'm happy with the product overall now that both chairs have arrived.I purchased this in the royal blue color. The chair is exactly as pictured and the measurements provided are accurate. Mine swivels very easily (but not to the point that it's moving when I don't want it to). It was super easy to assemble, though the directions are a bit confusing on first glance. Took me about 15 minutes by myself; you do not need a second person for assembly. I got this to replace my old wooden desk chair that was killing my spine while working from home. I think it's really comfortable - just the right amount of cushioning, and leaning against the back rest feels natural and very supportive! Note: I am about 5'2 and 100 pounds - definitely designed to fit a smaller person. I have some room and my feet don't even touch the ground (just my toes), so you could be larger than me and still find it comfortable.There IS a smell, like a chemical solvent smell. It's not so strong that it fills up your room, but you can definitely smell it when sitting in the chair. Hoping it fades.I love my new chair! We recently moved to a smaller home and I went from an office of my own to a small corner in the living room, so my big office chair was an eyesore.This chair fits the bill perfectly. Beautiful to look at and just the right size. The instructions are minimal and confusing, but once you figure what the diagrams mean, it's quick and easy to put together. I did it myself in about 15 minutes.Ergonomically, I expect this will not be as good as my actual office chair was for long workdays. But since I work from home, I can get up and walk around regularly to help counteract any issues. However, just sitting in it now, it is comfortable and feels very sturdy.If you are a large or tall person, this chair won't be for you. I'm 5'2" and about 165 lbs and I just fit into this chair. If you are larger, it would be uncomfortable. Or if you have very long legs, it expect it would not be a good choice, either.But if you're shorter like me, it will be perfect for you. My feet just touch the ground (though don't sit flat) when I sit all the back into the chair.The color in this picture looks darker than it actually is. It's a beautiful, rich, dark royal blue - my favorite!Very happy with this purchase.I spent dayzz looking at chairs for my husband’s birthday. I wanted to find something stylish and comfortable for while he plays guitar in out music room. I finally settled on this, and I love it! It came well packaged, was easy to put together, and looks good! I wish the brown was a solid color- it kind of looks patchy light and dark brown, but overall I don’t mind. It spruces the space up and is sturdy!
